About Ayanna

I am a litigation attorney and adjunct professor with experience managing complex matters across both criminal and civil practice. My work sits at the intersection of legal strategy, risk analysis, and practical problem-solving, with a focus on delivering clear, business-minded guidance in high-stakes environments. I was also recognized on the 2026 New York Metro Rising Stars list, reflecting my growing impact in litigation and advocacy.

I am currently an Associate at Darger Errante Yavitz & Blau LLP, where I handle toxic tort and asbestos litigation on behalf of manufacturers, suppliers, and distributors nationwide. My practice requires independent case management, deep analysis of expert reports and technical evidence, and the ability to translate complex scientific and factual issues into a clear legal strategy. I regularly draft dispositive motions, defend depositions, and work closely with local and national counsel to assess risk and move cases forward with intention.

Before transitioning to civil litigation, I worked as an Assistant District Attorney in the Westchester County District Attorney’s Office. There, I handled cases from intake through disposition, litigated hearings and trials, and built a strong foundation in courtroom advocacy, negotiation, and decision-making under pressure.

Alongside my litigation practice, I teach as an adjunct professor at Monroe University, focusing on trial practice and juvenile delinquency. My approach centers on preparing students for real courtroom environments, strengthening their legal writing, and helping them develop confidence in their voice as advocates.

I am also active in Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., where I lead communications and public relations efforts for the Queens Alumnae Chapter as Journalist and Communications Chair. In this role, I shape messaging, produce the chapter’s monthly newsletter, and develop content that reflects its work and impact in the community. I also contribute to regional communications initiatives as a member of the Eastern Region Journalist Committee.

Across my work, I bring a disciplined and strategic approach grounded in sound judgment, clear communication, and the ability to synthesize complex information quickly. I am particularly interested in opportunities that allow me to partner with business teams, contribute to operational decision-making, and provide forward-looking legal guidance.
